Systems

The valley of disappointment
We expect progress to be linear; reality is exponential and delayed. In the beginning, a good habit underperforms your expectations — the gym week that changes nothing, the study month that earns nothing. That gap is where most people quit, one rep before the curve bends.
Bad habits run the mirror image. They overdeliver early — the skipped session nobody notices, the impulse trade that works once — and collect their real price much later, all at once.
Judge the slope, not the day
On any single day, the honest answer to “is this working?” is invisible. Track weeks, judge months, trust quarters. Systems are graded on slope.
